Ed has extensive experience representing venture funds and tech-based businesses in their most critical business transactions (venture capital/private equity, M&A, securities offerings, going private transactions, strategic alliances, management buyouts, shareholder disputes). Ed has handled dozens of tech transfer/spin-off transactions for clients such as Rutgers University, Princeton University and the Stevens Institute of Technology, among others. Ed was ranked one of the top ten Corporate and M&A lawyers in New Jersey by the Chambers USA Guide to America's Leading Business Lawyers (2004 edition-He appeared again on that list in the 2005, 2006 and 2007 editions). Chambers' comments emphasized his work in venture capital and M&A. In 2007, Ed was listed in the Investment Dealer's Digest "40 Under 40" as being "among the brightest, hardest-working people in the financial area" for his work in venture/private equity and M&A. He is also listed among The Best Lawyers in America (2006-2007 edition) in both the M&A and buyouts/private equity categories. Ed has been named one of New Jersey's "40 Under 40" three times -- by NJBiz (Business News New Jersey -- one of only two lawyers in 2001), and separately, by the New Jersey Law Journal (2003 and 2004). Ed represented a NY-based tech company in a venture round which Dow Jones' VentureWire Alert described as "one of the largest single venture capital investments of [2005]." In 2000, Ed represented a client in a series of venture and strategic transactions which FutureBanker Magazine later listed among the "Top 10 Technology Deals of 2000." Ed is an Adjunct Professor of Finance and Economics at Columbia University Business School where he is currently teaching Venture Capital.
